#19 on the 19th!

Since Emalia's 42nd birthday fell on June 19th, a chemo day, she began an extended birthday celebration on our last night at Keawaiki, and she and JB went out for birthday dinner on the 18th.

Finding that the oncology nurses had turned her chemo room into a birthday suite was a wonderful surprise, and Dorien Romanchak brought Emalia her favorite fruit tart!

Keawaiki therapy!

We spent six glorious days on the Big Island at Keawaiki, where on an off-chemo week Emalia had a wonderful break from her Maui routine. Lots of long ocean swims, the therapeutic "clear pool" (brackish), black pebble beach, wonderful weather, and great companionship. Certainly, such a welcome respite from the chemo routine, which cranks up again tomorrow.

Lookin' good!!!!

Emalia had her 18th chemo infusion this past Wednesday and all is going well. She finds the FOLFIRI easier to tolerate overall despite it being harder during chemo and for a few days following. Once again, thank you to all of you for helping Emalia--and all of us--out in so many different ways and aspects of our lives. We couldn't do this by ourselves and are soooooo grateful.
